I don't know if any of these shows aren't already available on the Archive, but I'm sure some of you with encyclopedic GD knowledge will be able to quickly tell whether any dates are new. Supposedly more to come in the near future.....

From Wolfgang's Vault today.. "Cracking The Vault Day"

The day you've been waiting for has arrived -- today we are Cracking the Vault. The site you have come to know for free streaming of great live music is now where you'll come to download concerts by the biggest names, including the Grateful Dead, Santana, Chicago and Fleetwood Mac, as well as many other performances from exceptional artists in punk, metal, jazz, folk, classic rock, and more. Enjoy this historic and unprecedented day of great music, knowing that in the weeks to come there will be even more. Thanks for being with us as we Crack the Vault!

This is based purely on my memory of what is and isn't on the archive so I may have missed a couple but here are the shows that you can stream at Concert Vault and not here:

69/02/11- Fillmore West (Official Release)

69/03/01&02 - Fillmore West (Fillmore West Box Set)

71/04/25-29 - Fillmore East (Ladies and Gentleman...The Grateful Dead) Contains material not on that release and some stuff with the Allmans and the Beach Boys worth checking out if you haven't heard it before

71/08/14&15 - Berkeley Community Theatre (Dicks Picks 35) Has material not on the Dick's Picks definitely worth listening to if you like '71 (and if you don't...why not?)

75/3/23 - Kezar Stadium (Beyond Description Bonus Disc) A very unique Dead show. Guested by Ned Lagin and Merl Saunders they play the B side of Blues For Allah live at the SNACK concert. Probably not an essential Dead recording but a very cool one none the less

76/10/09&10 - Oakland Stadium(Dicks Picks 33)
Cool shows from the Day on the Green series. Dead shared the bill with The Who on the second day and put on a real show. Also check out the Help->Slipknot->Drums->Samson->Slipknot->Franklins on the 9th.

77/09/03 - Raceway Park (Dicks Picks 15)
There is a pretty decent AUD on the archive but this is the SBD. Best MS Half Step of all time (don't give me that 5/7/77 nonsense) and a killer Eyes, plus Terrapin Encore.

That about covers it for GD material not on the archive (I think) though there's also some good JGB stuff too, including a 3 set epic from French's Camp in '87 complete with acoustic set. Not to mention 1000+ other bands with some pretty sweet concerts.
Definitely definitely definitely worth the 45 seconds it takes to make a free account.

DP 35 doesn't contain anything from August 14th or 15th:

http://www.deaddisc.com/disc/Dicks_Pick_35.htm

"A 4 CD set of the complete show from 7 August 1971 in San Diego, all that was salvageable of the 24 August, 1971 show in Chicago, and over an hour from the 6 August, 1971 show at the Hollywood Palladium."

both of the shows are available here for streaming:

http://www.archive.org/details/gd71-08-15.sbd.ladner.21780.sbeok.shnf

both are high in my rotation.

Berkeley Community has some really poor acostics, but not as poor as the Cow Palace. This 1974 DP24 is the kind. http://www.deaddisc.com/disc/Dicks_Pick_24.htm "THE WALL OF SOUND" was new and unleashed. Set 2 can throw a greenhorn into the arena, but early 1978 (Uptown) can get'um jumping on running with their smokin' craters right into the stands.

"Berkeley Community has some really poor acostics, but not as poor as the Cow Palace"

the two don't even belong in the same sentence. One is a high school aud and the other is a barn.

Main difference I can hear between streaming versions of 6-7-69 on archive and WV is that the archive version has been resampled to the correct pitch. Yawn.

I'm streaming 11-19-66 from the Fillmore now. Sounds good. I haven't decided if I'll pay for the FLACS, as I have become accustomed to streaming from the Archive when I'm working, and 1966 isn't what I'll listen to in the car. I'll leave the searching to the more curious...

BlueDevil, did they win that pending lawsuit? Seems they loosened up the rules.

Bill Graham was the Man.... He archived everything. Recording, films, artwork, heads. Quite the educator he was with all these different mediums. This was allowed by management at the signing of contracts. Bobo was not the one to worry about because he was building a library, but there is always a scumbag trying to cash in.

WTF, these toostoned greenhorns are the problem. Thinking they have an artistic right to seed commercial material. We whom toured and taped did it just to get down the road or re-live the trails from the night before....THIS WAS ONCE A KIND COMMUNITY not a hash cake of pooh.

LONG LIVE BOBO

ouch! True, I was too lazy to search all the shows. The post was more along the lines of news sharing, and I figured others would be able to more efficiently discern "by sight" as opposed to entering in each show date in the Archive.

well, I didn't bother to look either...

anyway, I usually just put the year in "Find items from year"...hit go and then sort by date...

the only time I enter a show's date is when I am searching the forum.

no worries, it is a handy way to search fast.

so I just checked-out wolfgang's and they have certainly increased their number of dead shows since the last time I looked. Plus being able to purchase downloads in mp3 or flac is kind-of-like the download series revisited.

guess I should start looking at their e-mails more closely.

I wonder what their sales numbers are looking like.

now it's time to take a closer look at the shows.
